Another anniversary.

It was 28th June 1866 when the North Walsham and Dilham Canal Act 1866 was passed into law. The Act amended the 1812 North Walsham and Dilham Canal Act.

This new Act, primarily, permitted the sale or lease of the canal on the provision that ‘no such sale or lease shall authorise the closing of the canal’.

Other alterations to the management of The Company including arrangements regarding payment to shareholders and were contained in this Act.
